Development in the Wild Heron Community began February 19, 2001. Wild Heron has established itself as a community with a vision so appealing that its entire first offering of 105 homesites were sold out by the fall of 2001. Wild Heron HOA fees are reportedly around $412 per quarter with Community Development District fee at $1855 per year. Amenities are completed.

The residences offer several designs: Two-story and contemporary. There are also a few condos along Lake Powell. Most of the residences are 3-4 bedroom, 3- 3 ½ baths single-family dwellings featuring 2000 to 4200 GLA. Most of the homes are of very good quality and finish. Most of the homes are new to 8 yrs. old. Trends indicate newer homes are constructed with cement fiber, stucco, and stone siding. Outdoor kitchens are also popular.

The last phase of homesites were sold in mid-2005. The 18-hole golf course entitled Shark’s Tooth Golf Club opened for play in March of 2002. This 18-hole Greg Norman golf course incorporates environmental friendliness, as well as in architectural foresight. Several safeguards have been designed into the course to ensure environmental harmony with the lake and surrounding wetlands.
